Why self-hosted BTCPay matters
Most "Bitcoin-accepting" hosts actually use a payment processor — Coinbase Commerce, BitPay, NOWPayments — that converts your BTC to USD behind the scenes and takes a cut. Those processors require business KYC, share transaction data with their partners, and can (and do) freeze merchant accounts.
We run our own BTCPay Server instance at btcpay.launchpadhost.com, routing payments directly to our self-custody wallet. Result: lower fees (no processor cut), no KYC sharing, and no single entity that can cut off our crypto checkout. Your transaction goes straight from your wallet to ours on-chain or via Lightning — the only intermediaries are the Bitcoin network itself.
